Lately, we have received a few requests for more women’s posts.  Well, for two guys writing a blog that is a tall order so we can’t make any promises.  We do our best to find things that we like, and more times than not it turns out that we have picked a winner.  Luckily for us, there are a number of lines out there that never leave us wondering about the quality of their products, or if they are going to be well received.  One of those lines is Lands End Canvas, and their Women’s Sailboat Mini Shorts ($39.50) have certainly caught our attention.

Lobster Lush Bow by Bird Dog Bay

On June 6, 2011, in Bowties, Mens, by Ryan & Ben

It’s no secret that bowties are a big part of our lives here at Bows & Boats.  From formal occasions, to random days at the office, we always get pleasure from the conversations they start, or the second glances that come from the unsuspecting passerby.  Well, now that summer is in full swing, we are breaking out a few more of our “fun” ties.  While we still break them out from time to time in the colder months, it is a bit easier to get away with something a bit more out there when the weather is nice.  One company that has a ton of fun ties is Bird Dog Bay, and their Lobster Lush Bow is sure to draw some attention.

Navigator Duffel by True Wind

On June 4, 2011, in Bags, by Ryan & Ben

“Want to go out on the boat?”  Those seven words are always music to our ears on a Saturday morning, and the answer is almost always yes regardless of what was previously planned or who is asking.  Since boat days normally turn into dock bar nights, it is never a bad idea to dress accordingly for both, or bring a quick change of clothes for your evening activities.  If you opt to bring something to change in to, you are going to need a bag to carry everything.  A very appropriate choice is the Navigator Duffel ($185 – $210) by True Wind.

Water Shorts by Southern Tide

On June 3, 2011, in Mens, Shorts, by Ryan & Ben

Cookouts, pool parties, and boat trips were the talk of the town last weekend.  Though we don’t have the extra day to play, we are hoping that this weekend pans out in similar fashion.  With a number of rivers, and the Chesapeake Bay, so close, we spend our fair share of time out enjoying all that mother nature has to offer.  For days at play on the water, a key swimsuit is a must, and the Water Shorts ($79.50) by Southern Tide are certainly a solid option for everything from swimming to being towed behind a friend’s new ski boat.

On June 2, 2011, in Accessories, Womens, by Ryan & Ben

A couple of weeks ago we talked about slimming down our wallets and moving things over to a simple card case for summer.  Well, it seems like the ladies in our lives are doing the same thing this season.  While we are still seeing a number of purses that could carry a Volkswagen, some of the most fashionable ladies we know have moved over to a basic clutch to compliment their outfit.  If you are looking for a clutch to add a bit of pop to your ensemble, take a look at the offerings from Tipsy Skipper ($70).

Khaki Field Watch by Hamilton

On June 1, 2011, in Accessories, Mens, by Ryan & Ben

While many people look forward to the extra day off that a three day weekend provides, the thing that we look forward to most is the four day work week that follows.  Though your first day back in the office may be a bit more hectic than usual, from that point on, the week always seems to fly by.  To make sure you don’t totally lose track of time, you may want to pick up a Khaki Field Watch (prices vary) by Hamilton.
