Yesterday, seersucker season officially opened, and it was definitely out in full force here in Annapolis. As much as we love a good seersucker, we have also become partial to corded cotton options over the years. The look is somewhat similar, but it seems that colors options are much more plentiful than our beloved seersucker. Recently, our friends at Southern Tide released a boatload of fantastic looking Corded Cotton Shorts ($79.50).
A few months back, wedding invitations started trickling in, and while we put each and every one on the calendar they all seemed pretty far off. Well, that far off got here real quick, and wedding season is about to be in full swing. Whether you are getting married yourself and looking for one final token of appreciation for your groomsmen, or you think you are going to need a little something extra to get you through a few receptions, we think you’ll like the flasks ($20-25) from our friends at Izola.
As much as we love football season, you’d be hard pressed to convince us that this isn’t the best sports week of the year. With the NCAA hoops championship game, The Masters, and Opening Day all within a few days of each other, this is a week that we look forward to all year long. Though our Orioles may not be at the top of the standings for much of the year, that doesn’t mean you won’t find us cheering at home and in the stands this year. In honor of America’s Pastime kicking off, today’s Bowtie Friday pick is the patriotic Plaid Bowtie ($55) from Brooks Brothers.
You already know that we are huge fans of Indochino when it comes to their custom suits. With a fit and finish that can’t be touched by anyone for the price, we’re going to have a hard time buying suits anywhere else for the foreseeable future. Well, now that they have released their Spring releases, we’re thinking about putting an order for something a bit more casual than a three piece suit. We really like the majority of Indochino’s Spring line, but one item keeps jumping off the page at us, it’s their Modern Blue Striped Chambray Shirt ($79).
A few weeks back we spent a Saturday gushing over our new favorite t-shirt, the To Dixie With Love shirt from our friends over at Old Try. We are happy to report that their line of shirts has grown by leaps and bounds since then. Well, the design is still the same, but for those of you with SEC ties, or those of you who just like a little bit of color, we have a feeling you are going to like the new additions which we like to call To the SEC With Love.
Today is the day. Today is the day that we have both been dreaming of for years. Today is the day that we both set foot onto the hallowed grounds of Augusta National for the first time. Thanks to their no cell phone policy, we will be forced to leave our phones outside and truly enjoy everything the course has to offer. Trust us, we are not complaining in the least. Though we would never recommend donning a green jacket (unless you happen to win The Masters), we figured today was the perfect day to talk about a great pair of green pants, the Augusta Golf Pants ($98) from Bonobos.
Though some choose to wait until Memorial Day to break out the Seersucker suits, we tend to use Easter Sunday as the official “first day of seersucker season.” Well, we’re so excited for the day to arrive that we may or may not have been sprinkling hints of seersucker into our wardrobe over the last couple of weeks. No, the suit has not made an appearance yet, but in less than a week it will be in heavy rotation. In the meantime, we’ll just cheat a little bit with the Classic Blue Seersucker Necktie ($60) by Starboard Clothing Co.*
Originally the store front for artist William Lamb, Wm. Lamb & Son has rapidly expanded into a number of different product lines. From lamp shades, to iPhone cases, to coffee, to say their empire is spreading like wildfire would be an understatement. Recently, the lady behind the man was gracious enough to send up a couple of Wm. Lamb & Son t-shirts ($24) for us to check out. We like ’em, and think you will too.
Now that Spring is officially here, we have been bringing out some of our favorite warm weather fabrics from storage. The seersucker still has a week or so until it will be out in all of its glory, but we are all about breaking out some chambray this week. Now, thanks to the gang at General Knot & Co., we can integrate this lightweight fabric a bit more often than years past courtesy of their Classic Navy & Pink Chambray Bowtie ($68).
Last month, we profiled the first custom shirt to ever make its way into our collection, the Campus Oxford from Ratio Clothing. Well, we’ve been so impressed with it that we’ve decided it is time to add another custom shirt from the Ratio line to our wardrobe, and, after a lot of thought, the decision has been made. Our next order is going to be their Purple Mini-Gingham ($115*).
