For the first time this year, local weather forecasts have started to mention a four letter word that we absolutely despise, snow. This year, we’re going to try to make the most of it and embrace the tundra for once. In an effort to get ourselves in the correct mindset, today’s Bowtie Friday pick is the Snowflake Bow from Vineyard Vines.
Over the last few years, Criquet shirts have become an absolute staple for us. On the golf course and off, we wear their classic Players shirts all the time, an we’ll soon be breaking out their long sleeve counterparts. Just last week, Criquet released the latest addition to their growing polo empire, a Classic Pique.
For nearly a year, our friends at Oak Street Bootmakers kept things pretty standard with their collection. There were a few new iterations of existing shoes released, but no new designs. Well, recently the floodgates have opened, and it seems like there is a new shoe or boot being released from the team in Chicago on a weekly basis. Just yesterday they released their Trapper Boot.
In honor of Veterans Day we thought it was only right that we feature one of our favorite products from a Veteran owned small business. Our friends at Bull + Moose turn out some great looking ties, but, without question, their Camo Bow sparks more conversations than any tie in our collection. In fact, it’s hard to believe that our Veterans Day post last year is what put us in touch with them in the first place. The feature below originally ran on December 6,2013.
In our opinion, the best part about Ledbury’s Short Run collection is that it allows them to take risks. Sure, some of the shirts may fall flat, but, for the most part, Ledbury trots out some darn good shirts week in and week out. Last week, their Vale Patterned Chambray Shirt caught our attention.
While they may be known for their whimsical drawings, the team at Bird Dog Bay is far from a one trick pony. In fact, some of our favorite ties in their collection are those that don’t feature a theme at all. This week’s Bowtie Friday pick is one of those ties, the Wooly Neat.
Over the last few years, Wm. Lamb & Son has done a fantastic job teaming with some of our favorite brands on some great collaboration pieces. From bowties, to duffel bags, to shorts, the artist’s work has graced a variety of items, and the results are always outstanding. Now, we’re happy to see the Lamb collaboration with Southern Proper taking another step with the release of a couple of sport shirts that don’t bear his artwork, but still embody what the feel of the Wm. Lamb & Son brand. Our favorite is the Thomasville Tattersall.
Now that layering is becoming more and more essential, we’ve been on the lookout for a few new sweaters to liven up our collection of basics. Truth be told, we haven’t had anything specific in mind, but there have certainly been a few pieces that have caught our attention. High atop the list of potential additions lies the Donegal Two-Button Henley from Peter Millar.
Traditionally, we’ve reserved go to hell pants for warmer weather, but this year that’s changed quite a bit. From plaid options, to some interesting solids, our unwritten rule is going to be gone for good thanks to a few new releases. One of our favorites is a pair of Orange Duck Canvas Preppy Pants from our friends at Country Club Prep.
