A couple weeks back, we were happy to be announce that one of our readers was going to be receiving the first publicly available bowtie from the Social Primer by K. Cooper Ray collection. At that point, many pieces from the line were still under wraps, and though we had seen a few sneak peaks, we were eagerly awaiting the official shots of the entire lineup. Well, today the Social Primer by K. Cooper Ray line was unveiled at the University Club in Manhattan via the inaugural “pledge class” of the Social Primer Fraternity (above). The reviews are already coming in, and it appears that the rest of the world loves these ties just as much as we do. We’ve had a great day today, but we have a feeling our friend Cooper is flying higher than anyone else we know this Bowtie Friday.
From lamp shades, to fine china, to the inside of some fantastic looking blazers, it seems like art from Wm. Lamb is popping up everywhere these days. Without a doubt, the latest addition to the ever growing assortment of products sporting Lamb artwork is our favorite. Yes, the artwork of Wm. Lamb has finally made it to the world of bowties. Made up of seven great looking bows, the Wm. Lamb & Son Collection by Southern Proper is sure to be a hit.
As the leaves begin to change, our choice in clothing has taken a similar path. Gone are the bright yellows and greens, and in are the more muted natural colors. Beyond basic khaki, we’re big fans of chinos in all sorts of hues based on the season, and this Fall we will be picking up a couple of new pairs from Lands’ End Canvas. Their recently unveiled Comer Chinos ($50) are sure to become a wardrobe staple in no time.
Along with our seersucker and linen, a number of our ribbon belts were packed away last weekend. Though we will occasionally break the grosgrain out in colder months, the occasions are few and far between, and our transition back to a mostly leather rotation has started. In an effort to liven things up a bit, we’re adding a few belts to the rotation this year that have a bit more character than just a basic buckle. One such option is the Hoof Pick Belt ($85) from Sir Jack’s.
Though we wouldn’t consider ourselves hardcore anglers by any stretch of the imagination, we’ve been known to drop a line in the water from time to time. Our friend Leighton takes his fishing a bit more seriously, and has taken his love of the sport to the next level with his clothing line, Fishtail. If you visited any of the major boat shows this year, you probably already know about the brand. If not, we’re happy to introduce you, and also announce that 4 Bowties & Boatshoes readers* will be the lucky recipients of a Fishtail Polo ($70).
Sorry folks, no new content today. Instead, we’re enjoying the long weekend and spending the day with family and friends. In the meantime, check out the current crop of giveaways that are ending soon.
The last couple of days have been nice, but today is the day we have been looking forward to for months. College football is back in full force, and we couldn’t be happier. To celebrate the occasion, we’ve decided to head into the archives and revisit some of our favorite collegiate gear.
