Last month, we had the pleasure of placing an order for a custom suit, and accompanying accessories, courtesy of our friends at Indochino.  Last Friday, our package arrived.  Needless to say, it took every ounce of self control not to try on everything as soon as we opened the box.  While the ordering process was extremely user friendly, and all necessary measurements were demonstrated, we were still a bit leery about how our first attempt at a custom suit would turn out.  Let’s just say we’ll be ordering again.  Soon.  There is literally not one thing that we would change.

Our order consisted of four pieces from the Indochino lineup, the Essential Gray 3-Piece Suit, the Consultant Navy Blue Gingham Shirt, the Navy Blue Dot Tie, and the Good Groove Tie Clip.  Below, you’ll find all thoughts on all four.

Essential Gray 3-Piece Suit ($449):  We couldn’t think of a better name for this suit if we tried.  A great looking gray suit is essential to every well rounded wardrobe, and, if you don’t have one yet, this Indochino version is for you.  With a weight that is not too light and not too heavy, you’ll be able to wear this 100% wool suit year round with ease.  Not only that, but it will match just about everything in your closet.  Though we will certainly wear this suit with a black belt and shoes on occasion, it really shines paired with browns. In fact, the rest of our order was built around the plan of pairing the suit with a recently acquired pair of walnut shortwings.

The Consultant Navy Blue Gingham Shirt ($99): Not only does Indochino use all of your measurements for suits, they custom tailor all of the clothing in your order.  That said, this shirt fit just as well as the suit.  With a cut that is fitted, but not too tight, the Consultant is a shirt that we will be wearing with suits, but also on it’s own.  We opted for traditional point collar and double button barrel cuffs.  We also couldn’t resist adding a tonal monogram to the cuff.

Navy Blue Dot Tie ($49):  The Indochino bowtie collection is a bit thin for now, and we’ve been on the market for a navy blue dot tie for some time now, so adding this one to the order was a no brainer.  Handmade out of 100% silk, this tie is one that will surely become a staple in our line up.

Good Groove Tie Clip ($39):  This simple accessory may end up being worn more than anything else in our order.  Why?  Because it adds just the right amount of character to nearly every tie in our arsenal.

Overall, we couldn’t be happier with every single part of our Indochino experience.  From the ordering, to the final product, everything has been absolutely top notch.  A huge thanks go out to our new friend Alex for making this happen, and we will certainly be ordering more suits (and shirts, and accessories) in the future.
